Privacy Policy

How Agenda Widget handles calendar and task content, optional weather location requests, and privacy-filtered crash diagnostics.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Agenda Widget ("we" or "the Application") collects, uses, and protects your information.

2. Data We Access and How We Use It

The Application uses official Google APIs to provide full integration with your Google Calendar and Google Tasks. Below is a detailed breakdown of the permissions we request and how they are used:

Google Calendar API

  • View Events: Display your upcoming calendar events in the widget.
  • Create Events: Add new events to your calendars directly from the widget.
  • Edit Events: Modify existing events, including changing titles, descriptions, dates, times, and other details.
  • Delete Events: Remove events from your calendars.
  • Move Events: Reschedule events by changing their date or time via drag-and-drop.

Google Tasks API

  • View Tasks: Display your to-do items from Google Tasks.
  • Create Tasks: Add new tasks to your task lists.
  • Edit Tasks: Modify task titles, due dates, and notes.
  • Complete Tasks: Mark tasks as completed or uncompleted.
  • Delete Tasks: Remove tasks from your lists.

Todoist API

  • View Tasks and Projects: Display your active Todoist tasks and projects in the widget.
  • Create Tasks: Add Todoist tasks to your selected projects directly from the widget.
  • Edit and Move Tasks: Update task content, due dates, descriptions, and move tasks between Todoist projects.
  • Complete and Delete Tasks: Mark Todoist tasks complete or delete them when you choose these actions.

Google and Todoist connections use their respective OAuth flows. You can revoke access through the account settings of each connected provider.

Optional Weather Add-on

When Weather is active and available for your license, Agenda uses either a coarse Windows location or a place you search for and select. In Automatic (Windows) location mode, the app requests a one-time position as needed rather than continuously tracking movement. It requests a desired accuracy of 5,000 metres and rounds latitude and longitude to 0.1 degrees before sending them for a weather lookup. These measures do not guarantee a particular accuracy; Windows, device hardware, and the location source affect the result.

Windows coarse location can provide an obfuscated position even if the app-specific Location switch is off, but the device-wide Location setting must remain on. Microsoft describes this as a coarse location with at least a 4 km radius of uncertainty; see the Windows Geolocator documentation. To prevent Windows-based location retrieval, turn off device-wide Location or choose a manual place. Manual place searches still send the place text and selected coordinates to the weather service. Turn Weather off to stop location-based weather requests.

If Weather For Offline Events is enabled (it is off by default), Agenda may send the location field of an eligible offline timed calendar event for a weather lookup. The lookup does not send the event title, description, attendee list, or other event fields.

3. How We Use Your Data

Calendar and task data: Agenda processes your calendar events, tasks, and connected-account credentials on your device. It sends the data needed for sync and actions you request directly to Google or Todoist. Agenda does not operate a cloud database for this content and does not send event or task content to our diagnostic relay. If you enable Weather For Offline Events, an eligible event's location field may also be sent for a weather lookup, as described above.

Crash diagnostics: To improve reliability, the packaged app automatically sends a minimized report only after a native crash or a React rendering crash. The report contains the crash category, severity, and a category-only fingerprint, Agenda version and build revision, operating system and processor architecture, and a timestamp rounded down to a 15-minute window. It excludes calendar or task data and content, account details, device/install/session identifiers, error messages, stack traces, and activity breadcrumbs. Ordinary usage events and recoverable frontend errors are not sent to this relay. The report is sent to our hosted diagnostic relay for reliability troubleshooting.

4. Data Sharing and Transfer

Calendar and task data travels directly between your device and the Google or Todoist APIs you connect to. The crash-only report is sent to our hosted diagnostic relay. If the relay accepts a report, it creates a minimized issue record in our Notion development tracker. These records do not contain your calendar or task content or persistent account/device identifiers.

Weather requests pass from the desktop app through the Agenda Widget weather proxy to Visual Crossing Weather. A request includes coarse coordinates or selected/entered place text and the weather options needed for the forecast. When Weather For Offline Events is enabled, a request may include an event's location text, but not its title, description, attendee list, or Google or Todoist credentials. Agenda does not store these locations in an Agenda account database. Visual Crossing processes weather requests under its own policies; see its Privacy Policy and Weather API data-use information.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process standard connection metadata such as your public IP address and request time while hosting this website, the weather proxy, and the diagnostic relay. The weather proxy also uses the request IP address for rate limiting. This network metadata is not part of the minimized crash report, and Agenda does not use it to identify or track your Google or Todoist accounts. 5. Data Retention and Deletion

Authentication tokens, app settings, and cached calendar/task data are stored locally on your device. We do not keep a cloud copy of calendar or task content in an Agenda account database. Weather settings and a manually selected place are stored in local app settings; the weather proxy does not save weather locations to an Agenda account database. Visual Crossing and Vercel may process request information under their own policies. Crash summaries accepted by the relay are stored in our Notion development issue tracker until a maintainer deletes them. Uninstalling Agenda does not delete reports that were already accepted.

How to Delete Your Data:

  • Revoke provider access: You can revoke the application's Google access through your Google Account Permissions page. To revoke Todoist access, remove Agenda from the connected-apps section of your Todoist account. Provider revocation invalidates authorization, but a local credential entry may remain until you remove it from Windows Credential Manager.
  • Remove local data: Uninstalling may remove package-scoped app data, but credentials saved separately in Windows Credential Manager and diagnostic logs stored outside the package may remain. To remove them, revoke Google or Todoist access in the relevant provider settings, remove any Agenda credentials from Windows Credential Manager, and delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\afaustov.app\AgendaWidget\logs folder if it remains.
  • Crash reports: Reports accepted by the relay and stored in our development issue tracker are managed separately from your local app data and remain there until a maintainer deletes them.

6. Data Security

Google and Todoist refresh tokens are stored in Windows Credential Manager. App settings and cached content are stored locally on your device, and network requests to connected providers use HTTPS. You can revoke provider access through the relevant Google or Todoist account settings.

7. Compliance

Agenda Widget's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
